This is our first single origin offering from Brazil and we are so excited to share it with you.
Wania Maria is of the third generation of coffee farmer's in her family. Her farm, called "Delta Farm", is located in the Santa Rita do Sapucaí municipality, within the state of Mina Gerais. This area is home to the low sloping mountains of the Mantiqueira Range, where coffee farms enjoy the modest altitude and microclimates. Delta Farm is situated at 1000 to 1250 meters above sea level. It's planted on an incline which means it has to be harvested manually. Harvesting in Brazil is oftentimes done mechanically, and indiscriminate. Harvesting by hand means the pickers are able to select only the ripe cherries from the tree, which aids in sweetness, and also in keeping the unripe defects from the initial processing. Delta Farm is planted in Bourbon, Catuaí, Mundo Novo, and Arara.
